A credit card decline can be very frustrating.

Here are some of the reasons a credit card may not go through:

Bank Authorization Failed

At times, a payment can fail because the bank or entity issuing the credit card has flagged a transaction as potential fraud. This can happen for an abnormally large transaction or one that doesn't align with typical spending habits.

When in doubt, you should call the number on the back of your card to ensure you authorize the transaction.

Card Type Not Supported

At Anedot, we do our best to support all card types including most American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and JCB cards. However, there will be very rare situations where we do not support a card.

Security Alert

If your card is in your possession and you feel that your card was declined in error, it may be due to a security alert. please call the number on the back of your card and see if there is a security alert. This is a common measure to prevent fraud. Once lifted, you can usually go ahead and process the transaction.

International Donations

All Anedot customers can collect donations from outside the United States, but must enable it on their account.

If you are a donor from outside the U.S. and do not see an option to give to an organization, you should contact them directly to ask them to enable international donations on their account.

If you have further questions, please contact our Support team at DonorSupport.com.
